Tanzania’s Big Brother Africa contestants recently took part in the anti-jigger campaign in Moshi. Bhoke Egina, the 2011 reality show housemate who was appointed as the anti-jigger campaign ambassador in Tanzania was joined by Richard Bezuidenhout, Big Brother Africa 1, 2007 winner during the launch of the campaign in Moshi.

Speaking during the two-day event, Ahadi Kenya executive director Dr Stanley Kamau said that he was very pleased by the celebrities in Tanzania for their commitment to community work.

Kamau added that former Miss Kenya Cecilia Mwangi remains the main campaign ambassador in the continent although an ambassador will represent every country.

This was the second time Ahadi was visiting Tanzania after having launched a similar project in Arusha last year. Ahadi has opened an office in Uganda and they are in the process of identifying a suitable Ambassador for the region.

Accepting her new role, Bhoke thanked Ahadi for opening the eyes of majority in Tanzania who never though that jiggers was such a major problem saying that she is committed to the course.
