A 5-Star Dinner

Bringing the sparkle and the shine to the Hotshots' game was the special dinner for the eight remaining housemates. After a long wait in the living room, they moved outside through the rain to the auditorium, which was bedecked with lights and tables laden with plenty to drink.

Each housemate was assigned a place to sit, and they soon took their seats eagerly waiting for the guests to arrive. The waitrons swooped in, laying down plates of freshly baked rolls and cream of sweetcorn soup.

Nhlanhla shared a table with JJ and Sipe; while Macky2 and Idris sat together at one table and Butterphly, M’am Bea and Tayo at another. Taking them down memory lane again was a screen flashing photos of their time in the house with the rest of the Hotshots.

JJ became very quiet as he gazed sentimentally at the photos, while Nhlanhla gave a running commentary to the images, staring fondly at those of Sheillah.

The night really started when South Africa singer Vusi Nova came on stage sporting a ONE shirt and greeting the housemates before starting his performance. The Hotshots were soon out of their seats, dancing enthusiastically.

After Vusi Nova performed he joined the Hotshots at table and JJ questioned him about his career and the industry, taking every opportunity he could to learn from the artists.

Making them all feel even more emotional than the photos were messages full of love and support from their former Hotshots and ex-housemates. The top eight certainly need encouragement for the final stretch of their last exciting night and day in the house.

Sulu and Feza gave an enthusiastic shout out, telling them they had tested the Hotshots who had proved how good they were. Each Hotshot received several shout outs and were told, Biggie-style, to “play your game”. Luis told them they were all winners in his eyes, but of course there could be only one. We’ll have to wait till tomorrow night to see who that is.

Kenya was back in the house with a performance by Liz Ogumbo, giving a shout out to the Hotshots as well before launching into her performance. She had them tapping their toes and bouncing out their seats yet again, as they enjoyed the show. She also gave them a chance for reflection with a melancholic song sung in Swahili.

Afterwards the housemates greeted her with warmth, raving about her performance, before she joined Macky2 and Idris at their table. What did you think of her performance?
