Biggie Rigged The Finale - Nigerian Fans Still Insist

You know how when something is being talked much about and you just want to join in before it becomes stale? Well that is why I decided to write about this today, not when my next article is actually due.

So after the BBA The Chase finale 2 weeks ago, I overheard and read people saying/writing/tweeting how they felt the results were rigged and how one of the Nigerian contestants was meant to win. How they felt that because we had won three times in a row, the big brother management did not want to piss off other participating countries by letting another Nigerian win. Also how the management decided our housemates would not be evicted until the final day to keep Nigerians actively interested – especially as in our minds we are the biggest customers of DSTV.

I don’t work for M-Net, neither am I forcing my opinions on anyone. I just wondered and decided to write this ‘What-If’ piece to enable us analyze properly. So here goes:

What If we put all sentiments apart and think this through?

What If we just accept any results not in our favor does not necessarily mean that the results were rigged? – and this applies to a lot of shows/events/processes in which the winner is selected through a voting process (excluding our elections, of course).

What If every housemate in the final week deserved to win the $300,000?

What If big brother’s definition of ‘deserve’ means ‘individual with the highest number of country votes’ and not our own definition of who was more exciting or who we personally felt should have won?

What If the fact that West Africa had three housemates already reduced the chances of any of them winning? – (especially if we consider the six country votes that went to the three housemates all together could have been given to one thus giving that single housemate one vote more than that of the candidate who won at the end of the day)

What If Big brother does not need Nigerian candidates to remain in the house till the finals to keep viewers numbers up considering the fact that the Nigerian housemates in the first and third seasons were evicted early and neither did it bring down the number of viewers nor did it discourage Nigerians from watching?

What if Biggie never rigged any BBA results and all the winners all through the years have been deserving winners based on Biggie’s definition of ‘deserving’?

What if even the BBA all stars in which Uti won was not rigged as the Zimbabweans believed which led to Munya being given a higher compensation price on return to his country?

What If BBA management was uncomfortable with the reaction of the Zimbabweans? And decided to compensate by coming up with a one-time scheme of having two winners the next year just so a Zimbabwean or any other country could take the second place incase Nigeria ended up rightfully taking first place for the third consecutive time?

What If all this analysis really would not put food on our table, neither would our candidates winning do, so we just stop disturbing ourselves about it and find useful things to engage in?

What if I stop here and ask what you think?

  2. Stop all this and hit the nail at the head. The 4th position given to melvin is false.late Goldie represented us(9ja)last year, she didn't complain when she was evicted. Melvin's case was clear that he deserve better than what was announced, not him winning but the position given is my concern.I never wanted to comment on this because last season biggie rigged our(9ja)vote,we voted for preezo but to our utmost surprise biggie gave keegan our vote.biggie did that, because he wanted keegan to win,he choose keegan among the top5 to be the winner.I wouldn't want to mention some countries that voted for melvin and biggie changed it because of some personal issue.

  5. The show is meant to unite but from the homemates behavour they are creating enemity and biggie supported them.abeg biggie crew make una go find work elsewhere because next year go dey very bad for una. Only three WA countries participating, and how will they win even if only one candidate was left... With the way biggie divided us,no country will vote for any WA rep.even if he/she is the best.

  6. In this big brother ve cooked up the results and this is why at some point Dillish was called by the bigie even 10 times a day compared to other housemates i think this is because they wanted to cook up the results.....i wounder if the winners are paid especially dillish....it myt be part f the dil, u win then u gt half the amount.....half of it belong to us!! Dillish by knowing that she will win it she started saying that she ve never been a winner of anything so as to create environment for her to win......!! Melvin is stil the best followed by Dillish (No hard fillings) then bervely cleo and lastly the tailor who shud ve gone a long tyme a go thankx to biggie again 4 choosing him to be head of house

  13. Admin, please stop embarrassing us, the show is over, we Nigerians have so much going on for us, the prize money is nothing to us, one person in Nigeria can give Melvin and Bev 2 times that. The show gave each contestant the platform to move ahead in life, thanks to Biggie, period. There's more to life than BBA, leave our great country alone.

  14. I believe Dillish deserved to win. Can anyone tell us what Melvin did better than Dillish? Do you recall Melvin used to strategise with Feza, Bolt and Beverly to get rid of Annabel? He also discussed this with Sulu and Bassey. Melvin's diary sessions were BORING! He also restrained his character a lot- except during the Nando/Elikem fight, he hardly expressed his opinions about anything. Of all these, I could say the opposite for Dillish. The girl was humble, entertaining and tolerant of all the Hakeem and Nando bullying through and through. She could have hated Cleo- she did not. She was also the ONLY housemate who never showed hatred for any of the housemates. Melvin hated Annabel-for no reason. He even nominated Dillish- while they were sharing a bed. So Naija, characterwise, Melvin was not really NO.1 material. Accept the results and bring us another Karen next year.

  15. Yes nja must bring another karen and SA bring another luclay next there season were the best season so far

  16. @anonymous 8:47, you really don't have an idea of what you are talking about. Melvin never schemed with any of the housemates and he didn't nominate dillish so get your facts right before blabbing.

  17. If its not rigged than I think bba give the cash prize to the most talked about housemate. this season Dillish has been on your mouths from the beginning till end,, dillish pretty, dillish lazy, dillish this and that. she made bba richer then $300 000. so bba rewarded her. so next time, control your mouths and gossip wisely.
